Call for Presentation Proposals
• WVAGT is seeking proposals for presentations related to the brain and learning. Some topics we are especially interested in are: Teaching the Minds of Students who are Gifted, Genetics/Intelligence/Multiple Intelligences, Illusions of the Mind, How to Properly Exercise Your Brain, The Best Foods for the Best Thinking, Depression/Anxiety/Perfectionism, Stress and Stress Relief, Neuroscience for Kids (hands-on activities to help children learn about the brain), How Children’s Brains Differ Today, Best Ways to Motivate Students, Higher Level Thinking/Reasoning/Problem-solving. • WVAGT is also seeking proposals for presentations related to academic programs directed toward gifted and talented students in science, mathematics, languages, humanities and arts, technology, as well as integration of the content areas. • This is a chance for teachers of the gifted, as well as students and parents, to share their successful experiences and ideas. Many WV teachers have developed excellent units and strategies and many students have participated in successful programs. We encourage you to share your ideas with the rest of us. We welcome and truly value your participation!
• Sessions will be 60 or 90 minutes long (including question and answer periods) • Attach a 50-100 word description of session content (suitable for use in conference program) • Also attach a 50-100 word bio (suitable for use in conference program) • Identify equipment needs
